Around 3,000 US Reports Throw Light On Serious Side-Effects Triggered Off By Chantix
Date: 21th May 2008
According to a latest study report, around 3,000 US cases have made apparent that the Pfizer manufactured anti-smoking medication chantix triggers off some of serious side-effects such as aggression, heart trouble and suicidal behavior. With the revelation of these Chantix side-effects, the “Institute For Safe Medication Practices” recommends that the US regulators should make the potential chantix users aware of these side-effects resulting from the usage of chantix.Altogether, a spokesperson of the institute, Les Dorr, makes it apparent that due to the inclusion of potential Chantix side-effects in the report, the Federal Aviation Administration has implemented ban on the use of chantix by pilots.
Besides, the FDA (Food and Drugs Administration) also reportedly received complaints against the quit smoking medication chantix, namely mood changes and suicidal behavior in January.
By taking the 3,000 new cases on Chantix side-effects into account and altogether by considering the reports received by FDA, the Horsham, a Pennsylvania-based Institute states that a whole array of injuries on account of the smoking cessation medication have been reported which further makes it evident that the risks of chantix use so far had been underestimated.
